We are having a few days getting over our jetlag before picking up our campervan and we are very lucky to be staying with Don’s lovely sister Nicola in her cottage in Coromandel Town. It is an interesting town – very quirky! There is a rich history of gold mining and kauri wood milling which means that there are lots of old colonial buildings around the place. Some of which now serve pies!! And flat whites!! There is some great street art on the sides of the buildings too. Crowded House famously sang about Four Seasons in one day – and oh boy, they are not wrong! It’s been super windy, super wet and super sunny – all in the space of 10 minutes! Good job we have good rain coats…
Here are a few pics of Coromandel and the surrounds…

This is Helen Clark, the local celebrity in town. He is named after Helen Clark, former PM of New Zealand.
