We head over the hills along the 25 road to Whitianga. Along the way we stopped at some stunningly beautiful beaches, and a very quirky and very cool place for a flat white before having lunch in Whitianga. Our first stop was Whangapoua Bay, beautiful endless sand and a very photo worthy washed up log! Further up the road to Luke’s Kitchen https://www.lukeskitchen.co.nz/ at Kuaotunu Bay for a flat white – this place is brilliant! Very quirky, could have breakfast, lunch, dinner here every day except it’s only open Thursday – Sunday! Whitianga is a very old town – continuously occupied for more than a thousand years. There are some gorgeous old cottages that date back to the late 1800s which don’t sit well next to the manufactured Florida style complex, where each house has it’s own boat mooring. We didn’t stay there very long, hence no photos!
