What a day!!
Above: We are blown away by the spectacular Ruakuri Bush Walk. It’s a loop walk which takes you through limestone arches, tunnels and the most dense but stunning bush. It was AWESOME!!
Below: We head to Waitomo. The caves here are home to glowworms and half a million visitors a year. As we are here for a birthday treat, we opt of a small family run company called Spellbound – and we were!! Twelve of us guided by Ross walk down to the cave entrance, put on our hard hats before descending into the first part of the cave where he explains all about these amazing little bugs. After a further walk down, we board our inflatable boat for our trip along the underground river where glowworms light the way. No words can describe it effectively but try and imagine looking at the galaxy on a crystal clear night. Or Van Gogh’s Starry Night. It was AWESOME!!
Today truly was special.
