It had been a quiet evening, the odd car going past. Sometimes kids think it’s fun to make lots of noise, rock people vans – scare the tourists kind of thing. So when in the early hours the van started rocking my thought processes were as follows: 1. Windy. 2. Kids. So I listened for noise of kids laughing. Nothing. No wind. An alternate thought, earthquake. Listened a bit more. Rain. So I went back to sleep. Later, as I was making breakfast, I checked my geonet app. 5.7 earthquake Wellington. No wonder we woke up!
A drive along the coast with a couple of stops. We are planning to be in Wellington for a few days, so we are currently camped about half an hour away. Saw a spaghetti Tree today. Not really, it’s called a Kowhai tree, the Tui birds love it! This is what it looks like after it’s flowered.
