We breezed through here in 2014 and this time, we decided to spend a couple of days having a better look around. All day parking at the train station makes a lot of sense, it also means that you get to have a really good look around this beautiful station. The floor tiles and stained glass are glorious. There are a huge number of places to eat and drink. We found a great coffee shop – The Perc Cafe https://www.facebook.com/p/The-Perc-Cafe-100063820621105/ where we had great flat whites, excellent hot chocolate and some really tasty sweet things! Dunedin is a great city to walk around, with most things being within easy distance to the Octagon. We had a wander around the art gallery – there are some excellent pieces to see, the Otago Museum – lots of interesting facts about the land, the people and the creatures of NZ, visited the Cathedral and walked up the steepest street in the world (and I have the certificate to prove it!)
