In the Moment

Queenstown

Adrenaline central. Queenstown is famous for getting your heart racing in one way or another. We had visited here eleven years ago so this time around we weren’t here for high octane thrills. Every ‘i’ site seemed more interested in selling a thrill than helping you explore the town and it’s surroundings. We drove up the Remarkables ski field access road and wow what views we had. Be aware that whilst the main part of the road up is really good and has places to stop for the views, the last part of this road is gravel. It is mildly odd watching planes coming in to land BELOW you! Views over the braided river are amazing. We managed to get to two local markets, both very different but individually great – The Remarkables Market https://remarkablesmarket.com/ & the Queenstown Craft Market https://www.queenstownmarket.nz/ Our trip to Queenstown wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Fergburger https://fergburger.com/ the wait can be long so be prepared. Their burgers are really filling – and messy! We also found a great place called The Winery https://www.thewinery.co.nz/ it’s a great place to have your own, individual wine tasting or just buy a bottle of wine and sit and enjoy!

The Remarkables dominate the landscape here and it is easy to see why, they are mesmerising.
